 Get 2 toppers for the price of one! This quilted piece consists of 3 coordinating fabric on each side and uses warm and natural batting. The topper measures approximately 25 ½ inches across. The diameter of the large center circle measures approximately 11 inches and is accented with a smaller circle of coordinating fabric measuring approximately 6 inches.

Handmade items from Artfire.

This is a handwoven basket on a wooden base with a Eagle picture. This is oval basket size about 12 1/2" x 10 1/2". Base is painted a dark green, and the sides are woven in a variegated reed with dark pink, dark green, blue and a little purple. The colors in the reed pick up the colors in the picture. Wonderful to have on a shelf, or on a table top. Great basket for males, from young to old.

 This is a beautiful hand crocheted by me afghan in purple and blue hues.

 he earthy tones of unakite and picture jasper are paired with shiny Celtic cross charms and sterling hooks in these distinctive handcrafted earrings. The cross charms are fine silver-plated no-lead pewter, and were made in the USA by TierraCast. Above the charms is a combination of small picture jasper beads and a central larger bead of the gemstone unakite. Fine TierraCast silver-plated spacer beads border the unakite.

About Unakite:
Also known as epidote, unakite is considered a gemstone of positive energy, particularly for the heart chakra. It is a power stone of connection and unity, which is one reason why I used it for these earrings. The cross also symbolizes connection and unity (among other things): connection between earth and heaven, and unity in the intersection of the temporal and the eternal.

Unakite is also considered a healing gem that helps to eleviate heartache and lift depression and that benefits the physical systems of people in ill health.

The term "epidote" comes from the Greek "epidosis," which means "growing together." The stone's composition, despite its alternative name, is actually a combination of epidote and feldspar with altered granite.

Two light switch covers create this cute ornament. In the middle is a is a clear plastic stamped with silver snowflakes. A snowman is added attached with foam to give it dimension. Both sides are decorated the same.

 This card only uses three color but makes a real statement. On cream cardstock a cherry blossom is stamped in red ink. Under Congrats a line of red rhinestone. A wavy border at the bottom is made of swiss-dot red cardstock.

 This sterling silver heart pendant was entirely made from raw materials. Sheet silver was rolled thru a mill with a brass etch plate that I designed. After the raw silver was cut into a heart shape, filed, tumbled for strength and oxidized, I attached a bail to mimic the shape of the heart. I added a bezel set pearl to make this even more sweet and or so dressy if you want it to be.

It hangs on a 16" sterling silver snake chain. The heart length is 1 3/4". The pearl has been expoxied in place, in addition to being bezel, set for additional security.

 With Halloween coming up fast everyone is in need of a costume. Why even the family dog!!!

I have made this Dog Hoodie with a purple fabric that has black bats printed all over it. The hoodie is made from a cotton fabric and the lining is a solid cotton also. In between the 2 fabrics I have added a warm and cozy piece of fleece.

Around this Dog Hoodie I have add a fun purple boa and of course I have added some ribbon to tie it under his or her chin.

This hoodie is 12 inches from the neck to the end. The little hoodie is 4 inches long.

I just had to make this one with Halloween fabric. The family dog would look so cute dressed for Halloween and
they could stay warm too! Any questions please ask.

I just created a collection on artfire of beautiful handmade candles.  They would be great for any occasion.

I am having a sale of some of the candles I have in my artfire shop.  They are 20% off.  Some of the candles are one of a kind.  I am trying to get rid of some of my inventory so I have more room for supplies and to make some other candles.   I know this sounds a little stupid to clear out the candles I have for more candles. 

I want to make some different types of candles and to get ready for the holidays.  I have some holiday scents I want to make and I think they will be really nice. 

Here is one of the candles that is on sale.

A nice white, lightly scented peppermint candle with blue and green added. This candle will remind you of the peppermint candy. What a nice, soft smell that will not take over the room.

A candle that will enhance the room and made a great addition and a great conversation piece.

Like all my candles, this candle is made from a blend of paraffin and soy wax.

Eucalyptus is known to be used as an insect repellent. If you light this while you are outside, it will help in keeping those pesky bugs away.

When used indoors, it can be used as a deodorizer, filling your indoors with a nice fresh scent.

Eucalyptus oils is known to be used as an insect repellent. When you go outside, you could light this candle and it will help in the repelling of those nasty insects.

This candle is a very beautiful, handmade, eucalyptus scented square candle. It will be a great addition to any decor. The strong scent will give your room that nice fresh scent. It will also help in getting rid of any odors that may be lingering around.

 This candle is a beautifully scented eucalyptus candle. It is an octagon shape. Even though the scent is strong, it won't be overpowering. Place this candle in any room and it will look good and give the room a nice scent.

Eucalyptus also has insect repellent properties. You could light this candle while you are outside to repel the insects that may bother you.

This eucalyptus candle is made out of paraffin wax and soy wax.




Here is what I have listed new in my bythesehands shop.

This candle is handmade using a blend of soy wax and paraffin wax. It has a nice strong lemon scent and yellow color. The candle is square shaped and will blend in any room.

The lemon scent will give off a nice throw. Some people will think you just cleaned your house with a lemon scented cleaner or polished your furniture with a lemon furniture polish.

 A lemon scented candle that will remind a person of a nice clean kitchen. It will work with any decor. It is a nice strong lemon scent with a nice yellow color. This candle has a nice octagon shape.

According to aromatherapy, lemon is good for energizing.

 A very strong vanilla and hazelnut scented square, pillar candle. It has that nice scent of fresh brewed vanilla and hazelnut coffee.

The scents are mixed so you can experience both scents.

This candle is made out of paraffin and soy wax. Paraffin wax gives the candle the stability to stand outside of a container or mold.

 This candle has the scent of vanilla and hazelnut. When you light this candle, you will almost get the same scent as vanilla hazelnut coffee.

These 2 scents will fill your room with both of these scents.

This candle is handmade and hand poured. It is made out of a blend of soy wax and paraffin wax. The paraffin wax gives the candle the stability to stand outside a container or mold.

I can customize this by adding "whipped cream" to the top of the candle. This will really give it a look of vanilla hazelnut coffee.

In addition to my shop on artfire, I have a shop on bythesehands also.  I have been working on getting things listed.  It just takes a long time.  I can't believe how long it has been taking.  I am trying to come up with new titles and descriptions.  I remember what was said about seo and if you have multiple shops things should be different or else it won't be picked up by google.

I have hit the limit on my shop at zibbet.com and have been trying to edit them.  I need to do some more editing of my listings. 

I have also been working on my shop at bythesehands.com.  I don't have many items listed yet there.  I am basically rewriting the descriptions on my items and listing a few different items.  It has been taking a lot of time. 

There are some items listed on my shop at addoway.  I haven't listed anything on there lately.  I want to rewrite those descriptions as well as add some new items.  I was thinking of adding some of the items from artfire and some new items to each shop.  I figure someone should see something they like somewhere. 

Because I have been working on trying to get these shops up and running, I have been neglecting my blog.  I have also been promoting on facebook.  I have noticed an increase in views, just not in sales.  I need those views to turn into sales now.

My daughter wants a dog

My daughter has been asking for a dog for a long time.  There was a time when she decided she wanted a lizard, frog, gecko, snake, turtle instead of the dog.  After explaining the dangers of having one of those as a pet, that she couldn't take it for a walk or pet it, she dropped those ideas.  Now she is back to a dog. 

Yesterday, I took her to an adoption event.  She saw the dog she wanted.  It is a brownish colored dachshund/chihuahua mixed with brown spots and a pink belly.   I told her if she earned $200 toward the adoption fee, I would put in the rest of the money.  The next thing I know, she got my coin jar and said "Mommy, I have the money for the dog."  Try explaining to her the money jar is mine and not hers, doesn't work.  This is going to be interesting.

Update

I have been doing a lot of posting on facebook and trying to get some more sales along with more people interested.  So far, it seems to be working.  I have quite a few more views than I did before.  I just need the views to turn into sales.

I finally placed a facebook ad.  I have had a few more views and noticed a few more likes on my facebook page.  I don't know if this is because of the ad or because I was on artfire and liked a lot of people.  I am hoping it is a little bit of both.  The more people I get, the more it is going to help.  I just hope I see the results sooner than later. 

I didn't place much on the facebook ad.  I can't afford a lot, but figured a little is better than nothing.  I guess time will tell.

Items need a home

I have some items that I have listed on my artfire studio that need a new home.   They are getting tired of the scenery of my house and want to see what else is available in the world.   They are very nice candles.  They will be a great addition to any home and will fill your home full of a nice refreshing scent.  The candles will also add some color to any room.

I have rose scented candles that would be great in a bathroom while you are relaxing in the tub.  What a nice mood.  What more can you ask for besides having some rose petals floating in the tub.

Don't forget the lavender scented candles.  Lavender is a nice scent for relaxation.   It can have a calming affect.

I just listed some of my items on facebook shopping mall.  I didn't realize how much work it is.  The items cannot be imported from Artfire.  They have to be done manually.  If you have the items in an excel document or csv format, you can import them.  I don't know many people who do this or would want to.  Excel is not really supposed to be used for graphics.  It is a spreadsheet where you can enter data and do calculations. 

I am also going to be adding some new candles soon.  I just got a new shipment of scents and molds that I have been dying to try out.  There has been so much going on that I haven't had the time.  I did make something for my daughter the other day using the orange scent.  I didn't use much of it, but it was a strong scent.  It was very nice too.  It wasn't the strong, obnoxious kind of scent.  It was a strong, but pleasant scent.  Almost like you just cleaned your house with an orange scented cleaner.  I am curious on how this is going to work on a candle.  I think it would make a nice scented candle.

This little pink Fairy Mouse is called Erica. She is an adorable tame Fairy Mouse (the wild ones don't have floral garlands and bows) in pale pink.

Erica is made entirely from polymer clay, apart from her black onyx eyes. Her wings are made from coloured wire dipped in pearlescent resin, and she has a pretty pink bow at the back. She has pink and white flowers on her head and is holding a pink flower with a wire stem.

Erica is about 3.5cm (1.4 inches) tall and 2.5cm (1 inch) wide - small but perfectly formed! She's quite at home on your desk or a shelf, and is equally happy on top of a cake or cupcake (the clay is non-toxic).

Erica is signed with an artist's mark - a slice of my unique monogram 'QC' cane. She comes in a smart presentation box with a signed certificate, and will be sent out by recorded delivery (signed for) post within the UK.
